System Administration
•
System Administration manages the ongoing operation and the initial setup of the property.
•
The administration module allows the administrator to add users, with specific login details.
•
System administration manages the room types and rates associated with each specific room.
•
Rates can be assigned to specific date ranges, for seasonal and dynamic rates management.
•
Orbit accommodates for house accounts in the system administration module - for any group/house accounts that your property may wish to manage. These may vary from travel agents to general corporate accounts etc.
Room Chart
•
Orbit boasts a unique web-based rooms and reservations management tool, with an all-in-one screen room chart, colour-coded for easy to manage reservations and active accounts.

The room chart displays all room types and room numbers as well as the number of available inventory units per room.
•
The dynamic room chart screen has search filters enabling the user to look at only a specific room type or individual room. This is to narrow your on-screen view for quicker access to inventory.

Using intuitive programming, Orbit has a ‘best fit’ option, which re-arranges your room allocation to free up orphaned rooms. This means you will optimise the use of your available inventory, without the stress of moving guests or changing reservations accordingly.
Distribution

Orbit operates as a stand alone application, but eRes® is the engine that manages your ‘live’ availability and dynamic rates schedule.

eRes® is a powerful distribution system, interfacing to most major property management systems, various travel agents, tour operators, GDS service providers, ADS and portal environments.
•
With Orbit, all of this powerful distribution is a possibility, making your inventory available to various external sources.
•
Orbit integrates directly with eRes® WebBookings as well, your very own internet booking engine (IBE) making live reservations possible on your website.
Limited Service
•
Unlike Apex PMS, Orbit does not enable integration with other systems at the property level - only CRS and web integration for distribution.
•
Orbit is a user friendly browser-based property management system, with distribution capabilities, however there is no charge posting from the point of sale or telephone management system and no integration to your accounting software.
•
With Orbit, your property will have all the power of dynamic rates management and inventory distribution, but the product was developed for boutique, limited service properties in the hospitality industry.
•
Orbit integrates directly with eRes® and WebBookings allowing for reservations on your website and reservations will appear in the browser room chart, indicated as a 'new web reservation' - your very own internet booking engine (IBE).
•
Orbit picks up these reservations and will tell you immediately when you have alternative reservations. These reservations will be made according to the availability on your live system, ensuring availability at the source of the reservation.
•
Orbit is a fully funtional PMS in terms of reservations and basic rooms management, however, if it is integration with other property level systems you are looking for, Apex PMS is more in line with your requirements.
Reporting

Orbit Reporting ensures simple and efficient day to day management of your property.
•
With reports ranging from 'daily balancing summaries, active accounts and revenue reports' to 'user action log reports, end-of-day log reports and occupancy reports', the property will be well managed with all of the primary functions of the property being closely managed.
